Is it ok to have a very asian dining room in a transitional/traditional home?

We have a very asian dining room set. We have moved to a very traditional home - our style is more transitional/traditional but I always wanted a round table so I bought this 66" round table which is very asian looking. I could not sell it before we moved.

Details:

  1. It's your house and your table. There's no right or wrong about it. If you like it, great. Do you think the decorating police will come? :)
  2. Drapery King Toronto www.draperytoronto.com we do many draperies for people and i find people mix and mach the theme in home decor is trending to mix and mach. you should be fine
  3. as long as you like it that is all that matters
  4. I think, without seeing a picture, that it could be a very interesting addition to your traditional/transitional decor. In Victorian times, there was a lot of Asian in the decor that was usually very ornate but dignified. I would leave it to stand on its own & not add anything else in the room Asian themed per se, but I would have things with very clean lines. Red is always a great dining room color, & even moreso with the Asian set, or do somethingdifferent & paint the room dark gray.
