What color should I paint my dining room?

I have an eat in kitchen with a dining room off to the side. I use my dining room as a "sitting" room instead... The walls in the kitchen are yellow.. the sitting room is a deep burgundy.. the great room is gray.. You can see all three rooms when sitting in any of the rooms... So what would be a good color in between? Thanks!

  1. green.....
  2. Don't add another color. Use one of the ones you already have - perhaps the gray would be best. Or use a deeper or lighter shade of one of your colors.
  3. paint it a light neutral colour so that it works with the decore of your room
  4. why in the world pick you pick gray eww ... go with blues or orangesst look at the color wheel all the colors you choose are like on opposites of each other
  5. Taupe, it goes with everything. You can even accent with brights, earth tones or blacks. The color is formal, but can be casual and relaxing, depending on your decor. Good luck.
  6. Try a french blue - like navy, but a bit greyer and softer, to mediate the bright yellow and the deep burgundy.
  7. I like a light blue when you have a yellow kitchen. Nothing to loud, nothing to dull. Depends on what kind of furniture you have in the room. But I recommend a soft blue with some white pieces of furniture. Good luck =]
  8. the best way to narrow ur choices down is to decide what 'mood' you want for the room in between... weather it be warm (cosy reds) or cool(bright blues) yellow is a primary color either reds or blues will go.. grey will go with almost anything...
  9. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours: http://www.sherwin.com/visualizer/ I think "cucumber" (# 6722) might look fantastic. You can take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website: http://www.roomvues.com/ You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
  10. it depends on the shades of the colors that your have. how abut a very pale pink... or a warm light grey. here are some more ideas:
  11. i think off-white colour is best for the dining room ! and if you want more good ideas just take a look here http://www.dotmaison.com/Dining-Room_c_24.html
