What number of pictures hung on a wall in a living room, hallway and bedroom is sufficient?

Moving house and would like to know how much is too much really to hang up on walls. I don't want to overdo it. Any ideas too what kinds of sceneries would look nice in each and the dining room please? The rooms and halls are spacious enough.

Details:

  1. I'd say 4
  2. The number of pictures hung depends on the size of the wall and the size of the pictures. For instance if you have 5x7 framed prints, you would hang more than say an 8x10. However many you hang keep the number odd not even, it is more interesting to the eye. Also try different size pictures and different types of frames for more added interest. Test your "layout" of your pictures on the floor in front of the wall that you want to hang them on. It will give you a much better idea what it will look like when hung, plus you can move them around until you find the design you like best without every driving a nail. As to they type of scenery to hang, use what you love, the "scene" doesn't really matter so long as you love it, and the colors work with your decor. If you don't have a laser level, I would strongly recommend you get one, it really makes the job of hanging pictures so much easier! Good Luck.
